Ryan Havens Tannenholz
A man was arrested and charged with abusing an animal related charges
after allegedly dressing up like a dog in order to have sex with a cat,
according to police reports in Idaho.
Boise Police said that Ryan Havens Tannenholz, 28, was arrested on
Thursday afternoon after a police investigation into his sex life.
Investigators said that Tannenholz had penetrative sexual contact with
an animal in a Boise home on more than one occasion.
The illegal activity took place between January 2012 and January 2013,
according to Deputy Prosecutor Cathy Guzman. An arrest warrant was
issued on July 31, 2013.
Police did not reveal how they learned about his sexual activity, but
Guzman said it is not unusual for investigations to take some time,
especially if the crime was not reported to the police immediately.
"It just means that at this point they had probable cause to make the
arrest," she said. Guzman said she did not know if the cat belonged to
Tannenholz. She also said she could not release who reported the crimes.
The suspect has been charged with six felony counts of crimes against nature, and one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty.
If convicted, Tannenholz would face a minimum of five years in prison
for each of the felony counts. The misdemeanor charge carries a sentence
of up to six months and a fine.
